Dr. Isaac Lartey Annan is a lawyer by profession and Director of Human Rights Department, Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Accra.  Dr. Annan holds an MSc degree in Political Economy obtained from the Academy of Social Sciences and Management, Sofia, Bulgaria. He had his legal education at the Ghana School of Law, Accra, where he graduated with a BL degree. He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) and the International Bar Association (IBA). Dr. Annan, completed his postgraduate studies in international human rights law at the University of Essex, United Kingdom (UK), graduating with MA in Theory and Practice of Human Rights. He continued his doctoral studies in law at the School of Law, University of Leeds, UK. He successfully defended his doctoral thesis on the right to development.


Dr. Annan is an adjunct lecturer, Ghana School of Law, Accra Main campus and the Faculty of Law, Central University. His research interests include, human rights and development, sustainable development goals (SDGs), business and human rights, access to justice, and public service accountability.  Dr. Annan has been an expert facilitator in human rights at the national and international level, and has served on various committees for the promotion and protection of human rights in Ghana.
