Charles Adombire Ayamdoo Esq, is a Chief Legal Officer and the Director of Anti-Corruption. He has 23 years working experience with the Commission and has excellent skills in developing training and other manuals on diverse subject areas including human rights, anti-corruption, Codes of Conduct, law and governance. He also coordinated the development of Guidelines on Conflict of Interest to assist public officials identify, manage and resolve conflict of interest. He entered the Commission as a Senior Investigator in 1994 and progressed steadily to the rank of a Chief Legal Officer.
He is a lawyer by profession. He has led investigations of high profile and complex cases of corruption, conflict of interest, and abuse of power and human rights violations. Ayamdoo served as the Secretary for the Working Group that coordinated the development of the National Anti-Corruption Plan (NACAP), High Level Implementation Committee (HiLIC) and the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (MONICOM) of NACAP. Through this, Ayamdoo has contributed significantly in heightening awareness of the NACAP in the country.
As a focal person and Governmental Expert for the review of the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), coordinates the review mechanism of the implementation of UNCAC and other assignments related to UNCAC and international cooperation on anti-corruption.
Mr. Ayamdoo was the immediate past President of the Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities in Africa (AAACA). He also participated in fora aimed at promoting accountability and integrity in public service.
