REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE OF OHCHR-WARO VISITS CHRAJ COMMISSIONER

 

The Regional Representative of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights – West Africa Regional Office (OHCHR-WARO) Mr. Robert Kotchani paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner of CHRAJ, Mr. Joseph Whittal on 29th June 2023 at the Old Parliament House. Their discussions centered on promoting and protecting human rights in Ghana and the need to strengthen the collaboration and cooperation between the OHCHR Regional Office in Dakar, Senegal, and CHRAJ, the NHRI of Ghana.

The two discussed various issues of mutual interest on the human rights front, including adopting Ghana’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) outcome document in July and Ghana’s international reporting obligations.

Mr. Whittal expressed his appreciation for the support of the OHCHR-WARO over the years and looks forward to working closely with Mr. Robert Kotchani who has commenced his Mission as the Regional Representative for West Africa some few months now.

In attendance were Ms. Rania El Rajji, the regional gender advisor OHCHR, and Some Directors of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).
