The 2nd African Anti-Corruption Dialogue Is Currently Underway In Arusha-Tanzania 2nd – 4th october, 2018. Commissioner Of CHRAJ Joseph Whittal And Director Anti-Corruption Charles Ayamdoo Are In Attendance.
The theme for the three-day Anti-corruption Dialogue of all National Anti-corruption Agencies (ACAs) in Africa is “Towards the Development of an African Anti-corruption Measurement.”
Being held at Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha, Tanzania, the main objective is to dialogue over and analyse the several Anti-corruption Measurements/indices currently in use in measuring Corruption in Africa, and to assess their relative strengths and weaknesses in order to come up with a proposed African Continental Measurement which is wholly focused on measuring corruption on actual and experience basis and not the perception based indices currently in use. This would ensure a more authentic and home grown index.
This proposed African Corruption Index would replace the existing CPI, Afro-barrow Meter Survey; Mo Ibrahim index, etc. which are perception based and also overly broad and not necessarily on corruption only as the preferred index for measuring corruption in Africa.
This Dialogue is being held under the aegis of the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption (AUABC).
